Pregnant!
We found out at the beginning of August that I am pregnant again! I am 23 weeks along. Feeling fantastic this time around. I am so thankful--each day-- for this growing miracle. I felt different physically, this time. Everyone assumed since my cravings were different and nausea etc was different that it must be a girl, but no, it's a BOY.
Going through and organizing all Luke's old clothes made me even more excited to have another mama’s boy, and made it seem so real that he will be here soon!! I feel him kicking and punching me all the time--he moves so much more than Luke did! I love it! Each of his ultrasounds were amazing as well, he looks so perfect and beautiful. It is crazy to me that in a few months, he will actually be here!!
The pregnancy is starting to fly by, and I am growing by the day. I am in the easy stage right now (between the nausea and the HUGE debilitating belly). We have so much to do to prepare for this little one. Many of the preparations are for Luke. We are working out the room situation, turning the office into Luke's room; transitioning him into a big-boy bed, and getting rid of his binky (which he only uses when he sleeps). I want these transitions to take place well before the baby gets here (which means it needs to happen FAST). If we can’t pull it together, then most likely, Luke will stay in his room.
I was HOPING to work on potty training before the baby gets here, but that may be cutting it too close. We'll see. We've been talking about the big boy potty, but he doesn’t have much interest in using it. He shows a couple of the “signs”, but he’s not quite there yet…and I’m not quite there yet. Honestly, I love being able to go on long walks to the park, where there are no bathrooms anywhere around, and not worry. So, I think we will both need to grow into that one. J
Luke is two!
Luke's birthday was a very special day. We had a party for him at Grandma and Grandpa's house, and on his actual birthday, we spent the afternoon as a family of three on Main Street. We are so proud of our little man. He is a special little boy. He is so sweet, in nature, and has a fun, infectious personality. While he has his share of tantrums, he genuinely is so well-behaved. He is strong-willed, and while I know that will be challenging as far as parenting is concerned, I want a strong boy. I want him to have his opinions and the ability to recognize his feelings as an individual. His vocabulary is expanding, and it is so weird to see him saying so many different words. Words that we say but don't realize. He is a sponge these days. His favorite things are trains, animals, and cars. He talks about them all the time. He also can count all the way to twenty!!! I couldn't believe it the first time he did it. He doesn’t do it on command, it’s usually while he is bouncing a ball or pointing to objects. I’ll try to post a video.
Believe it or not, I had more updates, but decided to delete them and save them for another post. I am getting a little long-winded here. haha. Next, I will try to catch up on some fun fall and winter festivities! That is, if anyone still reads this thing anymore:) Until then...
